XML

XML (Extensible Markup Language) represents structured data with named elements, attributes and nested relationships. A well-formed document follows syntax rules such as correctly nested tags and escaped reserved characters. Applications determine what the element names mean, often through a defined schema. WordPress and plugin tools use XML for data exchange, configuration and some export formats.
