WordPress Must-Use Plugin

A must-use plugin is loaded automatically from the mu-plugins directory and is managed differently from an ordinary activated plugin. WordPress loads PHP files directly in that directory, so a subdirectory package usually needs a loader file. It suits site infrastructure that should always be available. Ordinary activation hooks are not an interchangeable setup mechanism for this loading path.
