WordPress Drop-In

A drop-in is a specially named WordPress file that replaces or extends a specific low-level component, such as object caching. Drop-ins are recognized by their filename and loading location rather than ordinary plugin activation. Their behavior can affect the whole site. Verify compatibility and ownership before replacing an existing drop-in supplied by a hosting or caching integration.
