UTF-8 Encoding

1 category
UTF-8 represents Unicode text using variable-length byte sequences while preserving ASCII characters directly. It supports names, punctuation, and multilingual definitions in a CSV. The importing application must decode the file consistently. A byte order mark may help some spreadsheet applications identify UTF-8, but an importer should remove it from the first header before matching column names.
