Transactional Outbox

1 category
A transactional outbox stores an event in the same database transaction as the business change that produced it. A separate dispatcher later publishes the stored event to a broker.
This avoids the failure gap between committing a record and independently sending a message. Publication can still be repeated if the dispatcher crashes after sending but before recording completion, so consumers normally need idempotent processing or durable duplicate detection.
