Transactional Inbox

1 category
A transactional inbox durably records received message identities alongside the business changes made while processing them. A retry can then recognize an already handled message instead of repeating its database effects.
The receipt and relevant changes should commit atomically. External actions, such as sending an email, require their own strategy because a local inbox transaction cannot roll them back or automatically make them occur exactly once.
