Stream-Table Duality

1 category
Stream-table duality describes the relationship between an ordered sequence of changes and the current state obtained by applying those changes. A stream of keyed updates can build a table, while changes to a table can be represented as a stream.
This explains how stream processors maintain materialized views and how replay can rebuild them. Interpretation depends on keys, update semantics, ordering, and whether deletion events are represented.
