Stream Repartitioning

1 category
Stream repartitioning redistributes records according to a new key or partitioning rule so related records reach the operator that owns their state. A stream keyed by order ID may need repartitioning before totals can be grouped by customer ID.
The operation can add network traffic and intermediate storage, and it affects ordering within the new partitions. Choosing an uneven key can also create hot partitions that limit throughput.
