Smoke Test

A smoke test performs a small set of basic checks that establish whether a build is usable enough for further testing. A plugin release might be installed, activated, and opened in the admin interface. It can reveal packaging or initialization failures quickly. Passing a smoke test does not establish that every integration or migration behaves correctly.
