Refresh-Ahead Cache
3 tags
1 category
A refresh-ahead cache renews entries before readers encounter a hard miss. A background task or read-triggered threshold can refresh frequently used values while the existing value remains available.
This can reduce visible lookup latency at the cost of additional work for values that might not be read again. The design must define what happens when refresh fails and how long an older value may remain eligible for use.
