Read-Through Cache
3 tags
1 category
A read-through cache loads missing data through a configured loader instead of requiring callers to implement the miss-handling path themselves. The application asks the cache for a value, and the cache retrieves and stores it when necessary.
This centralizes loading behavior, but loader failures and concurrency still need careful handling. It differs from cache-aside mainly in which component owns the responsibility for fetching a missing entry.
