Read Skew

Read skew occurs when a transaction observes related values from incompatible points in time. During a transfer, a report could read one account before the debit and the other after the credit, producing a total that never represented a committed state.

A consistent transaction snapshot can prevent this type of mixed view. Independent queries at read committed isolation may still observe different committed snapshots.
