Exactly-Once Processing

3 tags 1 category

Exactly-once processing means the defined processing state or output reflects each input once despite retries or recovery. A framework may achieve this with replayable inputs, consistent checkpoints, and transactional or idempotent sinks.

The scope matters: correct internal state does not automatically make an external email or arbitrary HTTP action occur once. A complete claim needs to specify which effects are covered and how each participating source and sink handles recovery.
