Event Time

1 category
Event time is the timestamp representing when an event occurred at its source. It can differ from the time a processor receives or handles the event because of batching, network delays, or retries.
Grouping records by event time helps place delayed events in the period they belong to. The processor needs a policy for unreliable timestamps and late arrivals rather than assuming that messages arrive in event-time order.
