Consumer Lag

1 category
Consumer lag describes how far a consumer is behind a stream’s available data. In an offset-based log, it is commonly measured as the distance between the consumer’s position and the relevant end offset.
Large lag can indicate insufficient processing capacity, paused work, or an intentional replay. Record-count lag and time lag are different measures, and a consumer can be active while still falling progressively farther behind producers.
