At-Most-Once Delivery

3 tags 1 category

At-most-once delivery avoids repeated delivery by allowing some messages to be lost instead of retrying ambiguous outcomes. This can suit disposable telemetry where repeating a record is less useful than keeping the system simple and fast.

It is unsuitable when silent loss violates a required workflow. The guarantee does not mean every message is delivered once; zero deliveries remain possible when failures occur.
