At-Least-Once Delivery

1 category
At-least-once delivery provides eventual delivery within the system’s stated operating assumptions, while allowing duplicates. A broker may redeliver a message after losing its acknowledgement even when the consumer already handled it.
Applications therefore need idempotent effects or deduplication when repetition would be harmful. The guarantee concerns delivery, and successful message delivery does not automatically establish that every downstream business action completed correctly.
