Anti-Entropy Repair

3 tags 1 category

Anti-entropy repair compares replicas and transfers missing or divergent data so their states move toward agreement. A system can compare ranges or hash trees to identify differences more efficiently than resending every record.

Repair is useful after missed updates, outages, or ordinary replication drift. Conflict-resolution and deletion-retention rules remain essential because transferring old data without those rules can restore an obsolete value or resurrect a deleted record.
