Allowed Lateness

3 tags 1 category

Allowed lateness defines how long a processor can accept events for an event-time window after its normal completion boundary has passed. An accepted late event may update an earlier result, while an event beyond the limit may be discarded or sent to a separate output.

Retaining window state longer consumes resources. The policy should describe both the retention period and what downstream consumers must do when an already-published aggregate changes.
