Admission Control

1 category
Admission control decides whether new work may enter a system based on available resources and an acceptance policy. An application can limit simultaneous import batches so database connections remain available for other requests.
Rejected work may be retried, queued elsewhere, or reported to the caller. Unlike an unrestricted queue, admission control makes overload explicit before accepting more work than the service can handle within its requirements.
