Overcome

Intro

The True Life Church website is one of my larger and most in depth websites I’ve done to date. It contains of a lot of custom development that helps aid in meeting their goals of a great website that works on a variety of devices.

This is also one of my favorites just because of both my personal ties to True Life Church but also because it’s given me an opportunity to explore the potentials of WordPress.

Build Attributes

About this build

This site is built on WordPress using a Framework Utility that uses utility classes and variables to power the site. From responsive sizing on content to responsive sizing on fonts, it dynamically adjusts the site to properly display on a variety of devices. The variable framework also uses global colors and sizing units that can be easily adjusted from one location verses potentially hundreds. The Framework coupled with semantically proper HTML ensure that the code is sufficiently layered in a way that makes the HTML lightweight and easy to identify (Header, Main, Footer).

The content management flow has been customized so that it allows the client to easily edit the areas that change the most. The site is also powered by dynamic content that is input on the back end and then is automatically updated and displayed on the front end that all changes based on date, location and more. This means that front end changes are dramatically reduced.

All of this is optimized by use of server and site caching & optimizing that is delivered by CDN. The site is designed to handle the content and deliver it quickly during heavy traffic demands. All images are optimized and converted to next generation formats such as WebP and AVIF to ensure they load quickly without quality loss.

In summary, the True Life Church website is a work of art that looks great, functions great, and utilizes best in class practices.
